Getting Ready!

If you are joining us for our Wednesday Zoom bible study at 7 pm, this is what you need to know. 🙂

We are gearing up for our summer bible study with Olympic View Baptist Church! Our first meeting will be on June 3rd at 7 pm. The sessions will wrap up on August 26 with a party of some sort. We are hoping it can be in person, but only God knows if that will be an available option for us! Between now and June 3rd, there are a couple of things that will help you start things off well.

First, please purchase the book It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way by Lysa TerKeurst. This will be the only cost to join our bible study. Please try to have the book delivered to you before we start the first week in June. Here is a link to a variety of places you can purchase the book. The first day, we will begin reading the introduction

Much of our bible study will come from the section at the end of each chapter titled, Going to the Well. If you would like to dig deeper into the topic, you can also purchase the study guide. If you are not able to purchase it, never fear! It is not necessary to participate. 🙂

The second step will be to find a binder or a fantastic notebook that makes you smile. You will be using it daily to reflect on scripture, answer questions, make note of questions that you want to remember to ask at our bible study, and pray. ANYTHING will do! Unfortunately, we will not be able to meet in person because our county in Washington is still in phase one. As a result, we will not be able to physically hand you a weekly packet.

Next, please make sure you have access to a Bible. There are many free Bible apps if you do not have a physical bible: Olive Tree Bible App and YouVersion Bible App are both highly recommended.

We will be hosting our bible study sessions on Zoom. You will receive an email or text message prior to the meeting each week that will include a way to join our meeting, either by the app, computer, or phone. If you join by app or computer, there will be an option to see a live video (and include one of yourself)! If you have not participated in a Zoom meeting, it is really easy and can be fun! Somehow, seeing someone talk with you helps increase the sense of connection that you can feel; above just talking on the phone. Please access Zoom prior to our meeting and download it onto your computer or smartphone. If you need help, please let us know!

In this mind-boggling time, we believe that this book and bible study can help us to change our perspective and to connect with God’s purpose. Plus, connecting with other women of faith each week can be so uplifting!!
